Roero's soils are predominantly sand, but this site carries a higher share of clay, which gives greater extract and ties the wine tightly to its ground. Arneis is usually made as a light, early-drinking white; here it is handled like a red. After a hand harvest the fruit saw ten days of maceration in steel tanks, then 14 months of élevage in cement, followed by a year in bottle before release. No new oak is involved at any point, so the texture comes from skins, lees and time.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eReady now and capable of several more years.
