The Rocca family have been in the village for four generations: Giacomo began selling grapes and then making wine in the mid-1940s, the winery took the name of his son Albino in the 1960s, and it passed to Angelo Rocca, whose daughters Daniela, Monica and Paola now run it with Paola's husband Carlo. They farm around eighteen hectares, ten of them Nebbiolo. Angelo draws on the Ronchi and Ovello crus in Barbaresco together with Montersino at San Rocco Seno d'Elvio, on aspects running from south-east to south-west. It is made traditionally, fermented under a submerged cap in an oak vat with a long maceration, then given about twenty months in oak casks and a further nine months in bottle.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt asks for time and will hold and improve for well over a decade; serve at 16-18°C with braised veal shin, hard alpine cheese or truffled pasta.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cem\u003e*Every effort is made to ensure the current vintage is accurate; however, variations can occur.
