Ronchi is the mention where the Rocca family owns most of its land and from which the winery takes its address; the soil is marly with limestone predominating and thin veins of clay and sand, and every parcel faces east to south-east into the morning sun. Four generations of the family have bottled here, the estate in its current form dating from around 1960, and Angelo Rocca's daughters Daniela, Monica and Paola run it today with Carlo Castellengo as agronomist and winemaker. The wine has roughly twenty months in oak cask and six months in bottle. In magnum it develops more slowly still, which suits a Nebbiolo of this structure.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWorth keeping for a decade or more, and enough for a large table.
