Ronchi sits within the commune of Barbaresco on marl in which limestone predominates, threaded with clay and sand, and the family's parcels there all catch the morning sun. The Roccas have bottled at Barbaresco for four generations, with the winery in its present form dating from around 1960; Daniela, Monica and Paola Rocca have run it since their father Angelo's death, alongside agronomist and winemaker Carlo Castellengo. The wine is matured for about twenty months in oak cask and six months in bottle. A magnum takes the same wine at half the ratio of oxygen to volume, so it comes round more slowly than the standard bottle.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eCellar it and open it for a table of six or more.
