Rocca is a Barbaresco house, and this comes from its own ground at Meruzzano in San Rocco Seno d'Elvio, a Sorì site meaning a steep, south-facing slope that catches the winter sun. The incline is severe enough that all the work is done by hand. Vines going back to 1950 and the limestone-rich soil here give a wine with more energy and aromatic intensity than the commercial run of the style, which tends to be grown on flatter, sandier ground. It is a reminder that Moscato d'Asti rewards good sites as much as any other appellation in Piedmont.

Drink it within a year or two of release while the fizz is lively. Serve well chilled at 8-10°C with peach tart, almond biscuits or fresh berries.

*Every effort is made to ensure the current vintage is accurate; however, variations can occur.
