Arnoux-Lachaux first made the wine in 2007, after buying a parcel of vines then 58 years old that sits alongside Clos de la Roche at the top of the slope. The plot is ploughed by horse and yields are very low, 18 hl\/ha here after Charles Lachaux pruned hard in the wake of the 2017 frost. Fermentation is with whole bunches, the full crop rather than a portion, and the wine is raised with about a quarter new oak. The result is built on scale and depth rather than early charm.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWorth a decade or more in the cellar and best decanted if opened young; try it with roast venison, beef fillet or aged comté.
