Domaine Arnoux-Lachaux farms 1.42 hectares here across seven plots of similar size, five of them more than forty years old. From south to north the lieux-dits are Les Brulées, Aux Tuyaux, Aux Saint-Jacques, Aux Lavières and Au Bas de Combe, the last of these sitting on the Vosne boundary. The domaine has held this land for many years but bottles the wine only intermittently. Charles Lachaux's methods apply throughout the range: very low yields, hand-harvesting, whole-bunch fermentation and ageing in used barrels, so the wine carries the aromatic lift of stems without oak flavour on top.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eGive it three to five years and drink over the following decade.
