Filipe Rocha, an agronomist, and winemaker António Maçanita founded the winery there, planting into basalt soil and sheltering the rows behind traditional stone-walled currais, so the result is shaped as much by sea air as by sun.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDry and energetic, cut through by the maritime character of the islands.
