Babo is the youngest label in the family of wines of that name, and the fruit here comes from a vineyard near Vinci on the western flank of the Chianti zone. The soils are alberese, the compact clay and limestone that Tuscan growers associate with structure and freshness. Skin contact was kept to between two and four hours only, which accounts for the very pale colour, and the wine was then fermented and raised for six months in concrete tank. There is no oak and no attempt at richness.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDrink young, ideally within a year or two of the vintage.
