The Bachelet holding is a postage stamp at the top of the slope on the Puligny side, planted to 50-year-old vines at a density of 15,000 per hectare. That density dictates short pruning, two four-bud baguettes per vine, and yields are low as a matter of course. In the brothers' hands this is consistently one of the more mineral and refined readings of the site: even in warm years the power shows as intensity and drive rather than fat. The wine was raised in one- and two-year-old 350-litre barrels, so no new oak at all, and just 800 bottles were made.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWorth cellaring five to fifteen years, though it can be broached earlier with decanting.
