The vineyard faces south towards the start of the Côte Chalonnaise, on a slope running between 290 and 400 metres in altitude. Bachelet-Monnot’s holding here reached three hectares with the addition of a parcel in 2020, and the average vine age is 60 years; eleven separate parcels are blended to make the cuvée. The wine spent roughly 12 months in used casks, with no new oak, and was then racked to cement vats for a further six months. The domaine’s stated aim in the southern Côte has always been finer, more aromatic reds than the area’s reputation suggests, and this limestone-rich site lends itself to that.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDrinking from now and good for eight to ten years.
