Enclosed by dry-stone walls and facing south to south-east, it has deep soil rich in red clay, though there is still plenty of rock at the base of the vineyard. Marc Bachelet describes it as a powerful terroir and a sunny site that ripens early, equally suited to Chardonnay or Pinot Noir. Marc and Alexandre Bachelet farm a small holding here, half of it planted to vines reaching 100 years of age, among the oldest in Meursault, with the rest planted in 1998. Alex Gambal, Patrick Javillier and Confuron-Cotetidot also work parcels in the vineyard, though those growers tend towards a fleshier style than the more Puligny-inflected Bachelet-Monnot version.
