The Bachelet brothers farm 40-year-old vines here, directly beside Domaine Sauzet's holding and just under Combettes. The ground is very stony, which brings generosity and flesh to the wine, but there is no shortage of mineral charge or chewy extract to hold it in shape. Fermentation runs on indigenous yeasts and the wine was raised entirely in 350-litre barrels, a quarter of them new; the larger format means a lower ratio of oak surface to wine than a standard barrique, so the wood works on texture more than flavour.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBest from three to five years, with a decade ahead of it.
