Bachelet-Monnot has bottled this one since 2012, drawing on four parcels of mature vines averaging 30 years of age. The key terroir is the lieu-dit Les Bras, which runs on from the Maranges premier cru La Fussière, with Le Chainey also in the blend. The soils across these vineyards are exceptionally chalky, and that shows in the shape of the wine: a creamy middle and a long, rocky close. Winemaking follows the domaine's usual pattern of gentle pressing, spontaneous fermentation and ageing in 350-litre barrels, with new oak kept low so the chalk comes through undisturbed.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDrink over the next five years with roast chicken, smoked trout or a mild washed-rind cheese.
