The source is a 0.8-hectare plateau strewn with volcanic stone, planted in 2007 above the De La Terre slope, where Best’s and Tahbilk cuttings sit on a mix of own roots and rootstock. Only the Best’s selection remains in the blend; the balance is Chardonnay now, the close-planted block named after the estate’s vineyard manager of 35 years.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eStem spice, black olive and dark plum, with dusty tannin and a long finish. Decant it and serve at 17 degrees.
