That change lets the site speak more plainly, and the site is unusual: planted in 2007 at 10,000 vines to the hectare, cropping at Grand Cru levels, clone 777 in north-south rows on the slope beneath the Serré plateau. Lighter and finer in structure than its neighbour, this is the edgier end of the estate’s range — earthy, ferrous, herbal — and the DNA of the block grows more prominent with each release.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePerfumed and layered: ripe red cherry, cherry cola, plenty of spice, and fine gravelly tannin. Serve at 15 degrees in a Burgundy bowl.
