The vines are own-rooted MV6, put in by founder Stuart Hooper next to the Chardonnay rows that make S.R.H., and they are nearing their fiftieth vintage. Winemaking across the single-vineyard Pinots barely varies from one to the next, so what you taste are the true colours of each parcel: this is the darkest and most structured of them.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDeep and calm, moving between red and black fruit with earthy spice and mulch beneath, all carried by a regal, slow-building structure. Serve at 15 to 16 degrees with plenty of air.
