Parcels from vineyards planted between 1976 and 2007 — Olive Tree Hill, 10 Rows, Stuart Block, Ann’s Block and De La Terre — were picked by hand and wild-fermented separately with around 20 per cent whole bunch, then matured ten months on lees in French hogsheads and puncheons, a quarter of them new, before blending. Clonal material spans MV6 and the Dijon selections 114, 115 and 777. The magnum is there for the long game.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eClarity is the mark of the vintage. Red and dark cherry with savoury, earthy depth beneath, fine-grained tannin and a long push through the finish. Serve at 15 to 16 degrees.
