Where 2019 leaned on skin contact, barrel fermentation and extended lees, here a portion of the fruit was crushed and left briefly on skins before pressing, with the remainder whole-bunch pressed straight to tank; the wine was then racked clear of lees into seasoned French barrels for nine months. The vines went in during 1996 at the eastern edge of the property, beside the Serré Pinot Noir rows, inside the certified organic block.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFresh and zingy with a phenolic chew and chalky drive, savoury more than tropical, closer in spirit to Saint-Bris than Marlborough. Serve at 10 to 12 degrees.
