Leroux's blend draws on a 1955 parcel of Les Véroilles, in the village portion of that high, rocky vineyard, together with a healthy share of Les Athets at the foot of the hill, where clay, silt and limestone bring flesh and breadth. Declassified fruit from the Premier Cru Les Chatelots is also in the mix. Vinification used roughly 30 per cent whole bunches, and the wine was raised with about 20 per cent new oak, a restrained regime that lets the village character carry.
