It is a cool site with mostly white, rocky clay, which makes it well suited to the fine-boned, chiselled style of Chassagne that Benjamin Leroux aims for. His vines were planted in the 1980s. Leroux made his name at Domaine du Comte Armand before setting up his own house in Beaune, and he treats bought and leased parcels with the same rigour as any domaine holding.
