It sits at much the same altitude as Les Embazées but gives a quite different Chassagne, at once richer and more mineral, which is where the comparison with Chevalier comes from. Leroux works 0.4 hectares of old vines planted in 1955; they produce small, concentrated clusters that bring genuine depth of fruit to set against the earthy mineral spine. The wine lives up to its reputation as a baby grand cru.
