The soils are limestone scree under a thin layer of clay topsoil, and the proximity to the grands crus shows in the breed of the wine. This is only the third release Leroux has made from the site. He works with restrained extraction, a portion of whole bunches and modest new oak, and in his hands Petite Chapelle gives a prettier, more elegant reading of Gevrey than the firmer, more structured Les Cazetiers he also bottles.
