Leroux's historic source lies in Mazoyères-Dessus, close to Aux Combottes and the Grand Cru Latricières-Chambertin, where the slope is better drained and the wines carry more definition than the flatter sections below. This release adds a parcel from Charmes-Chambertin proper, so the cuvée now blends both sectors of the vineyard. Winemaking follows the pattern Leroux has settled on for his Gevrey wines: around one-third whole bunches in the fermentation, gentle extraction and maturation in barrel with a measured proportion of new oak.
