Leroux has worked the same 0.45 hectares since 2002, initially while he was running Comte Armand. The three parcels face east on pure, rocky limestone and flint soils, with vines around 45 years old. Altitude and exposure make it a cool, late-ripening site, picked a good week after the fruit for his village Meursault, and that lateness is what gives the wine its purity and mineral drive rather than the breadth Meursault is usually known for.
