Les Vergelesses belongs to the former group but has the extra clay that gives structure. Leroux farmed a small parcel here for more than five years, improving the viticulture before he was satisfied enough to release it under its own label; earlier vintages went into his village Savigny. He describes the site as offering another layer of elegance compared with the other Premiers Crus of the commune.
