Leroux, who spent years running Domaine du Comte Armand before setting up on his own account in Beaune, takes the bulk of this cuvée from Aux Fourneaux in the north of the village and Ez Connardises in its heart, with a single barrel of the premier cru Les Hauts Jarrons added this year. Twenty per cent whole bunches were used, all from the Fourneaux parcel, where a high proportion of Pinot Fin and low yields gave real concentration. Ageing ran fourteen months in a mix of foudre and 228-litre Burgundian pieces, twenty per cent new.
