The soils are fine and light, and the altitude keeps the fruit fresh in warm years. Vine age runs to 80 years with an average around 50, and the planting includes 20-year-old massale selections taken from Comte Armand's Clos des Épeneaux. The site is farmed biodynamically and is where Carré and Leroux trial their more progressive viticulture. Leroux has observed that recent harvests have moved the wine towards a finer, more floral expression, helped by fermentation with a high proportion of whole berries. The result is silky rather than structural, with clear drive through the finish.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eApproachable at three years and good for twelve.
