In this release there is no La Gigotte, so the blend was drawn instead from younger vines in Les Mitans, a premier cru in the heart of the appellation, together with Les Grands Poisots, a village-level lieu-dit that runs up to the Pommard boundary. Only a small proportion of whole bunches was used, and Leroux again picked out the best-looking clusters at the sorting table. The wine is perfumed and aromatic in the way Volnay should be, with gentle tannins carefully wrapped in a voluptuous texture. Sealed under natural cork.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eApproachable now and holding for six to eight years.
