Bessin Tremblay farms at La Chapelle-Vaupelteigne, and this cuvée comes from around three hectares on the steep slopes facing the Fourchaume premier cru. Six parcels of villages-level vines are blended, all planted between 1950 and 1974, sitting across both Kimmeridgian marl and the shallower Portlandian soils above, which gives the domaine a spread of exposures to work with. The fruit was whole-bunch pressed and fermented with wild yeasts, then aged for eighteen months in temperature-controlled tank with a small amount of neutral oak in the blend. The long élevage, rather than the wood, is what builds the texture here.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDrinking well now and worth holding five to eight years.
