Three Grenache blocks feed it: the bulk from the estate's Rayner Vineyard, an eighty-year-old parcel from a grower five kilometres away at McLaren Flat, and the balance from the Trott Wilpena vineyard in Blewitt Springs. Mataro comes from the Kurrajong soils below Willunga, the Carignan and Counoise from young Rayner rows. Roughly 15 per cent whole bunches, wild ferments, old oak only.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFresh and racy, dripping with red fruit and spice, unpretentious and very easy to finish. Serve at 16 degrees, or slightly cooler on a warm night.
