The Grenache comes from two sites now: mostly Rayner, with support from a deep sandy block in Blewitt Springs. Shiraz is home-grown on seventy-year-old sand-rooted vines, and the Mataro comes off the Lacey vineyard in the Willunga foothills, on the rocky Kurrajong soils. Indigenous yeasts throughout, then eight months in old oak. Grenache leads, Shiraz gives roundness, Mataro gives spine.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eJuicy and lifted, with raspberry, plum and a warm spice edge, closing dry and savoury. Serve at 16 degrees, or slightly chilled.
