The older Grenache vines are around 55 years old, on sand, with a small younger block in the mix. After the earliest vintage the estate has recorded, the following season swung back to a much later harvest — some early heat, then a mild, slow finish. Grenache and Cinsault fermented cool to hold primary fruit, while the Mataro fermented warmer on full solids in a ceramic amphora, which is where the texture comes from.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFresh and layered, red fruit through the middle, chalky pithy grip, then a long watermelon-drenched finish. Best at 9 to 10 degrees.
