The name came from a harvest sunset at the home vineyard, and Selina says it evokes purple velvet, flowers and softness. The fruit comes entirely off Rayner, where vines up to 76 years old sit on deep sand with ironstone over limestone, and blocks of differing aspect each get their own treatment, some fermented as whole bunches and others destemmed, before the parcels are blended and matured in seasoned oak. The season was early and dry, which has given depth, colour and tannin without costing the wine its freshness.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eRed fruit and char spice, with a light-footed elegance that is the point of the wine. Serve at 16 degrees, no decanting needed.
