The WKR wines come from the label's own estate vineyard rather than purchased fruit. Cabernet Sauvignon is a late-ripening grape and a rarity in Tasmania, planted only in the warmest, driest pockets of the south east, where a long, cool season can bring it to ripeness while keeping alcohol moderate and acidity fresh. The result is a more restrained, finely structured style of Cabernet than the mainland norm.
