The vineyard lies within the Albesani cru in Neive and belongs entirely to this one estate, making it a monopole. It faces south to south-west on calcareous soil, and the great majority of its vines are more than fifty years old. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel over roughly two weeks, after which the wine matures for twelve to eighteen months in large, seasoned French oak casks and then rests in bottle before release. The site is known for a firm, austere structure when young that softens and gains complexity with time.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePatience pays with this wine: it has the tannin and acidity to age for fifteen years or longer.
