The fruit comes from vines averaging 50 years of age, mainly in two parcels. Punta Marcello sits at the top of the slope beside the cantina, a cool terroir that yields fragrant, pale juice and long, angular tannins. Vigna Colle Sudovest faces south at lower elevation, the warmest microclimate of the vineyard, producing fleshier and more accessible wine with darker flavours and softer tannins. The renowned Vigna San Giuseppe vines contribute as well, and the three components build aromatic and structural complexity between them. The wine saw 28 to 30 days on skins, followed by three years in large Slavonian oak casks ranging from 20 to 100 hectolitres, and was bottled unfiltered.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe magnum will take its time, holding and improving over two decades; decant when young.
