The blend is roughly a third Pinot Noir from Ludes, Trépail and Ormes, a third Chardonnay from sites across the Montagne de Reims and the Vallée de la Marne, and thirty per cent Meunier from Mareuil-le-Port. Ludes and Trépail supply the tension that offsets the depth and texture of the Marne fruit and the reserve wines, and the average vine age is around 40 years. Hand-harvested fruit ferments naturally in barrel and is aged in barrel and tank before bottling, then rests 36 months sur lattes and is disgorged by hand with just over 5 g\/L dosage. The style is taut and focused, dense but held by crystalline acidity and a smoky mineral edge.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDrinking well now and holding for five years or more.
