Where the Côte des Blancs lieux-dits are planted on steep, thin-soiled chalk, this parcel lies on an easier gradient with a far greater proportion of clay, and that shows directly in the wine: it is the richest and most powerful of the set, deep and fleshy where the others are taut. The blend for this bottling is 60 per cent Pinot Noir and 40 per cent Chardonnay, both grown in the same vineyard. Vinification is as for the rest of the lieux-dits, with very ripe fruit, natural fermentation and ageing in oak, extended lees contact and a minimal dosage. This release is based on 2017 and was disgorged in January 2024.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eApproachable now and likely to reward ten years or more.
