The fruit comes from the estate’s chalkiest ground, farmed biodynamically, on soils rich in chalk and chalky clay marl with pockets of flint and schist; the chalk drives the wine’s saline, citric line while the clay supplies balancing weight and texture. This is a multi-vintage blend based on 2018, with up to 40 per cent reserve wine. Primary fermentation takes place in barrique, foudre and tronconique cask, and the wine spent a little over two years on lees in bottle before being disgorged by hand, as all Laherte Champagne is, in May 2022. No dosage was added at disgorgement.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eReady now and will hold four to six years, the magnum longer again.
