Half the blend is Pinot Noir from Le Breuil in the Marne Valley, the other half Meunier from Chavot and Moussy in the Coteaux Sud d’Épernay, the family’s home ground. The vins clairs ferment naturally and are aged in barrel and foudre, and the wine completes malolactic fermentation before bottling without dosage, a choice Laherte makes to respect fruit intensity and mineral freshness. It combines the supple fruit of Meunier with the vinosity of Pinot Noir and the salinity of the chalky soils, and the colour is notably deep for a Champagne.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDrinking well now and holding for three or four years.
