The Chardonnay comes from Les Chemins d'Épernay, planted in 1957 on clay with chalky subsoils, and around a third of that fruit is the rare Chardonnay Muscaté. The Pinot Noir comes from Les Rouges Maisons, planted in the late 1980s on deep soil rich in clay, flint and schist. The two are vinified separately and raised in old Burgundy oak, with some portions fermented in second-hand barrels from DRC's Le Montrachet holding. The dosage is four grams per litre and the bottling was disgorged in December 2021. The old vines and clay of Les Chemins d'Épernay give the wine genuine depth and texture, balanced by a long, fine finish. Anyone who follows white Burgundy will recognise the textural and mineral register.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDrinking well now and capable of eight to ten years.
