Longitude takes its fruit from Cramant, Avize, Oger and Vertus. Where the sister cuvée Latitude draws on deeper soils, the parcels for Longitude carry thinner topsoils, so the vines plunge directly into the chalky bedrock; the name refers both to the vertical geography of these sites and to the linear, mineral shape of the wine that results. It is 100 per cent Côte des Blancs Chardonnay, fermented and raised in the house manner and finished with low dosage. The magnum slows the pace of ageing, which suits a Champagne built on tension rather than fruit weight.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDrinking now and likely to reward five to ten years in magnum.
