The name refers to that vertical relationship with the bedrock as much as to the geography, and the wine that results is linear and mineral where Latitude is expansive across the palate. The high proportion of reserve wine, 40 per cent drawn from a perpetual reserve begun in 2004, is central to the blend's consistency; William Kelley has called it one of the finest non-vintage bottlings in Champagne.
