Where the house’s Latitude comes from deeper soils and spreads across the palate, Longitude is named for the vertical: thin topsoils, roots in chalk, and a wine built on line and minerality rather than breadth. The current release is based on a single recent vintage with forty per cent reserve wine drawn from a perpetual reserve begun in 2004, an unusually high proportion for a non-vintage bottling and a large part of why the wine has the depth it does. The result is linear, racy and mineral, and the critic William Kelley has described it as one of the finest non-vintage bottlings in Champagne.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDrinking well now and holding for five or more years.
