Sep 22","description":"\u003cp\u003eChampagne Larmandier-Bernier Vieille Vigne du Levant is a grand cru blanc de blancs from old vines on the south-east flank of Cramant, disgorged in September 2022.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis wine was historically labelled Vieille Vigne de Cramant; nothing has changed but the name, which now refers to Bourron du Levant, the vineyard that supplies most of the fruit and which was planted in 1960. The balance comes from a half-hectare holding in the neighbouring terroir of Le Fond du Bâteau, where the vines are around seventy-five years old. Both plots lie at the heart of Cramant’s south-east facing slopes on the flanks of the Butte de Saran, catching the first sun of the morning. The deep root systems of the old vines give a wine of unusual density and weight for the village, more fleshy than Larmandier’s other cuvées while keeping the chalk-driven line. Fermentation and malolactic conversion are spontaneous, the wine spends twelve months in large Stockinger casks, is bottled without filtration, and rests at least eight years on lees. This release was disgorged with 2 g\/L dosage.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eReady now and capable of another decade in a cool cellar.
