It is widely accepted that Clos des Goisses, the steep south-facing walled vineyard above the Marne at Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, needs at least ten to fifteen years to show its full character, and for more than two decades the house has held back a portion of each vintage to be released over time. Late-disgorged bottles have appeared occasionally in the past, but the L.V. range now formalises an annual release alongside the current vintage. The important distinction is that the wine matured on lees for that whole period and was disgorged only shortly before release.
