Sparkling red is a uniquely Australian style, and Charles Melton makes its version from Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Grenache grown at Krondorf and Rowland Flat on the Barossa Valley floor. The base wines from several harvests are blended together to build complexity, then given their second fermentation in bottle by the traditional method, spending an extended period on lees before disgorgement.
