The Moueix family of Libourne acquired it in 2008 and added the Monange name, taken from an ancestor, and in 2012 absorbed the vineyard of Château Magdelaine into the property. Merlot makes up the greater part of the planting, with Cabernet Franc, and the vines sit on a shallow clay soil directly over limestone, which holds moisture through dry summers and drains freely in wet ones.
