Its vines grow on gravel and clay close to the water, where the estuary moderates temperatures and helps the grapes ripen evenly. Cabernet Sauvignon leads, supported by Merlot and a little Petit Verdot, and the wine is aged in French oak barrels. It's often recommended as a smart-value way into classic Saint-Estèphe. The 2019 has a complex nose of black fruit and sweet spice, a smooth attack, coated tannins mid-palate and a long, savoury finish.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eServe at around 17 degrees, after a short decant to soften its youthful grip.
